Why ShipX
Launching shouldn’t require an audience you don’t have yet.
ShipX is a launch platform exclusively for people with fewer than 1,000 followers on X.
The problem
Launch platforms are wonderful — if you already have people watching. The first hours of a launch decide where it ends up, and those hours are dominated by whoever can bring their own crowd. A maker with 40,000 followers and a maker with 40 are technically on the same page, but they are not playing the same game.
That means a lot of good, honest work never gets looked at: the student who shipped a study tool over a weekend, the developer who finally published their side project, the designer who built the thing they wished existed.
What we do differently
- One clear rule. You can launch if your X account has fewer than 1,000 followers. We verify it on our servers through the X API — nobody self-reports.
- Weekly launches with limited slots. Each week has 25 free slots, so every product gets a fair look instead of scrolling past in a firehose.
- Transparent ranking. Products are ordered by community support, comments, momentum and listing quality — a documented formula that money can’t buy.
- Real people. Every maker, supporter and commenter is authenticated with X. No anonymous voting.
What we don’t promise
We can’t promise traffic, users, revenue, or that your launch will go viral. Nobody honestly can. A smaller following doesn’t make a product better or more deserving, either. What we can promise is a dedicated, fair place for your work to be seen by people who came here to discover new things.
If you grow past 1,000
Great news — that’s the point. Products you launched while eligible stay live with their full history. New launches are reserved for accounts under the threshold, but you’re welcome to keep browsing, supporting and commenting.
