## About

tabi is a free dictation app for Mac. Hold fn and talk in any app, and clean, finished text lands at your cursor. Tap fn twice to go hands-free.

Select any text and tabi reads it back in a real voice. Open a PDF, a Word file, a book or a photo in Listen and it reads it aloud, in 37 languages.

Hold fn and Control to ask a question, rewrite what you selected, or reply for you.

Names and words in your Dictionary come out spelled right, and tabi learns from the fixes you make.

No account: download it, open it, talk. Free while in beta. Needs macOS 14 or later. Powered by Mistral AI.

## The problem

Typing on a Mac is slower than speaking, and switching to separate transcription or reading tools interrupts work in the app you are already using.

## The solution

tabi lets you hold fn to dictate cleaned-up text directly into any Mac app, select text to have it read aloud in a real voice, and hold fn plus Control to ask for a question, rewrite or reply.

## What makes it different

tabi uses Mistral AI for processing, sends words only to that company, and runs a relay on Cloudflare that keeps nothing; history is stored as text on your own Mac.

## Who it's for

Mac users who want to dictate text, have content read aloud, or get quick writing help without leaving the app they are working in.
