About GearDex
Before a wedding or a product shoot, GearDex tells you what's in the bag, what's missing and who still has your 85mm. Each camera, lens, light, filter and drone gets a record with serial, photos, value, condition, location and receipt. Add kit by typing a sentence or importing a CSV. Plan the job with call sheets, weather and sun times, pack from gear you own, and lend items to a second shooter with QR check-out. Version 4.0 adds a photography website and client galleries on every plan, a client CRM on Pro, and booking and invoices on Studio. Web, Mac 1.3.0 and Windows 1.2.0. Starter is free for 25 items, Pro is $39/yr, Studio is $179/yr, no trial.
Why GearDex
01 · The problem
Photographers track gear in spreadsheets and notes apps that go stale after one shoot. When a lens goes missing or an insurer asks for serials and receipts, the answers are spread across three bags and an inbox.
02 · The solution
One record per item with serial, value, location and receipt, packing lists built from that record, and QR loans so you know who has what. The same app runs your website, galleries, CRM, booking and invoices.
03 · What makes it different
It combines gear inventory and lending with photography websites, client galleries and bookings in the same app, rather than requiring separate tools.
Who it’s for
